Q-See QSX628 Fingerprint Time and Attendance System. Customer review
By Derek-Man
I have always had problems keeping track of the attendance record. The timecard system I have been using for years now was easy to cheat and people always managed to getaway with it. Since it is very important to keep track of the time and attendance of employees, I had to find a solution to make them come on time. Q-See QSX628 Fingerprint Time and Attendance System was supposed to solve this problem for me. Here is a quick run by of this thought to be remarkable product.
The scanner size is small than what would expect, quite reasonable though. They provide accessory cables but you need to get your own Ethernet cable. The QSX comes with three manuals for your assistance, but then the quality of instruction fit the product pretty well. With an overall of two-hundred pages for you to go through, be prepared to do some grammar and spelling editing, and a little of confusion along the way. If you are someone who is not patient to go through so much of manual reading, I guess then you can get someone else to do the reading part for you.
The scanner did work as expected with just two tries it was able to identify my fingerprints. In addition, the scanner can talk. Amazing, at first but not satisfactory though. I am very much convinced that the person who drafted up the manual was responsible for the voice programming. Just like the manual, it is full of spelling and grammatical mistakes. The unusual thing is that the menu options within software do not match the manuals;I guess the person forgot what they had written in the manual and never bothered to crosscheck the two if they matched. However, the network setup is easy if you have a lot of experience in that department and there is no setup wizard to assist you.
The final short fall of this product is that for some unknown reason the software is unable to identify the difference between “clocking in” and “clocking out”. Even when you properly setup the menu options to allow employees to clock out after a certain time, the darned software still reads all fingerprints scans as “clock-in” (unbelievable). When I make a print out of the attendance report, all the clock in/clock out times appear as “clock out”. The whole software thing is just too bugged.
If you want stress then this is the product for you, but if you want to get a sophisticated toy for the kids to play with then you can get them the Q-See QSX628 Fingerprint Time and Attendance System.
